This one-of-a-kind ceramic piece is handmade and painted. I draw inspiration from my home, friends, and surroundings. The ashtray is hand-built and painted using underglazes. I decorate the surface by engraving it, then fire it, sand it, and hand paint it with three or four coats of underglaze. I finish the piece with a clear glaze on the outside and color celadon glaze on the inside, finally firing it to 2232 Fahrenheit (cone 6).
