At Home with Pansies

At Home with Pansies
$350.00
This one-of-a-kind ceramic piece is handmade and painted. I started this series in mid-March 2020. I draw inspiration from my home, friends, and surroundings. Once the vessel is built, I begin decorating the surface by scratching/drawing, then I fire it, sand it, and hand paint 3 to 4 coats of underglaze (paint for ceramics) on the outside of the piece. Fire it a second time, then finish the vase with a clear glaze on the outside (spot glaze) and color celadon glaze on the inside, finally firing it a third time to 2232 Fahrenheit (cone 6.)
Although dishwasher safe, I recommend avoiding the heat drying cycle or handwashing it. This piece is food safe.
